What is KW Cares?
KW Cares is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity created to support Keller Williams Realty associates and their families faced with extreme hardship as a result of a sudden emergency. Hardship is defined as a difficult circumstance that a person or family cannot handle without outside help.
This charity is the heart of the Keller Williams Realty culture in action – finding and serving the higher purpose of business through charitable giving in the communities where our agents live and work.
KW Cares was the brainchild of the agents of Keller Williams Realty and Mo Anderson, CEO of Keller Williams Realty International, took this dream and brought it to fruition. Today it is supported by all KW associates.
KW Cares supports our associates in times of national and personal crisis. KW Cares also benefits other charities that are aligned with the mission and values of Keller Williams Realty and KW Cares.
What is a 501(c)(3) public charity?
Identified by the IRS – a 501(c)(3) is an organization that has been federally-authorized to receive tax deductible donations. A 501(c)(3) accepts donations and offers donors a tax exemption on their gifts as allowed by law.
What was KW Cares Heart 2 Heart Program?
In an effort to provide long-term support for those affected by Hurricane Katrina, each Gulf States KW family was “adopted” by a market center.
During Katrina the market center’s primary Heart 2 Heart leader was the Heart Specialist, who determined the scope of their adopted family’s essential needs, and integrated those needs with the resources of the market center or others in their network. They focused on immediate, and then long-term needs of those affected.
KW Cares annually donates a 10% tithe to selected charities. Below is a list of the charities that we support:

Help Lesotho (HL), a Canadian charity, has 8,300 orphans and vulnerable children, 75 out-of-school youth, 400 grandmothers and 15 schools benefitting from its programs in the small mountain kingdom of Lesotho, southern Africa. HL has involved more than 60,000 Canadians in schools, churches, foundations and groups to provide aid in Lesotho which suffers from the world’s 3rd highest incidence of HIV/AIDS, food shortages and poverty.

Keller Williams Ottawa Charities is funded by Keller Williams Ottawa Realty agents and support staff. When a home sells, a portion of the commission earned is contributed to the fund.
Currently we are providing funding to "Harmony House", a support home for women and children in distress.
